Business Cost Consultants save Robertson's Fine Foods thousands on water costs

For almost 150 years, Robertson’s Fine Foods have been producing a wide range of top-quality pork products including cuts of fresh pork and a variety of bacon. Using traditional family recipes, Robertson’s are now the only major producers of genuine Ayrshire bacon. As well as supplying throughout Scotland the Company has a full export licence and are members of the “Farm Assured from Scotland” scheme run by Quality Meat Scotland.
Situation:
Business Cost Consultants was appointed to carry out a comprehensive audit of water and trade effluent services at the Robertson’s Fine Foods production facility. This included a detailed examination of invoices, a site inspection and the installation of a data logger to analyse the water consumption patterns from half-hourly data.
Results:
The audit uncovered discrepancies in the invoices which indicated that the client had been overcharged.
Business Cost Consultants team disputed the charges with the supplier and successfully secured rebate of £25,000 for Robertson’s.
The correction of the billing errors has also resulted in an annual saving for Robertson’s Fine Foods of £4,500.
